Ellie’s Adventure in the Land of Wipalspots – A Short Children’s Story
One morning, at breakfast time. Ellie was making a painting. She had painted a beautiful sunflower and couldn’t wait to show it to Mummy and Daddy.
“Done!” She said and took the painting to the dining room, “Look what I made!” she said, holding up the painting so they would all see it.
SPLAT! A mashed berry landed on it. SPLAT! SPLAT! Two more fell. Reva was throwing out his berries. He didn’t mean for them to fall on Ellie’s painting. Sadly, the berries made purple stains.
“Sorry, Ellie,” Reva said.
Mummy tried to wipe the stains off, but they wouldn’t come off.
“It still looks great!” David said.
Ellie burst into tears.
“There, there,” said Mummy, and she hugged Ellie.
“David,” said Mummy, “have you ever taken Ellie and Reva on an adventure to the land of WIPALSPOTS?”
“Not yet,” David said.
“Everyone, pack up. We’re going to the land of WIPALSPOTS where no spot is too hard to remove,” said Mummy.
“Can I come too?” Asked Reva, who still felt bad because he had ruined Ellie’s painting.
“Of course, you can come,” Mummy said, picking him up. They all travelled to the land of WIPALSPOTS. And because it was so far away, they had to take an ice cream break. Then, they took a cookie break. They played X and Os and Catch. Finally, they got to the land of WIPALSPOTS.
In that land, there was a place where all unwanted spots could be erased. When they got to the place, a kind old lady opened the door.
“Hello,” said Mummy. “Please, could you help us take out these spots? We want our painting to be as good as new.”
The kind lady looked closely at the stains.
“I’ll see what I can do,” said the lady, and she took the painting away.
After a while, she returned. She was holding two canvases in her hands. One canvas was blank while the other was the old painting. But all the stains were still there.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “But these stains can not be removed.”
Ellie was about to cry. But the coman continued,
“Don’t cry. All isn’t lost. This might not be what you had in mind, but now you have a chance. You can make a brand new painting.” And she held up a blank canvas. “Or you could make something pretty out of those spots.”
That sounded like a lot of fun to Ellie, so she decided she would do both. She painted on beautiful purple flowers where the spots had been, and her painting was more beautiful than it ever was. She also made a brand new painting. It was like the last one, but she got a chance to do it much better than at first.
They then said goodbye to the kind old lady and went home. They were in time for dinner and a bedtime story.
The End.
