The huts were made with thatched roofs, and the walls were decorated with ceremonial chalk. On the inside, there were patterned mats on the floor, raised mud beds, and mud shelves that held oil lamps and fermented food. Clothes were carefully folded and stacked. The smiling villagers, dressed in T-shirts, jeans, and sunglasses, ran to welcome the chatting tourists. They guided their visitors by hand around the village.
