Reva Gets a Phone – A Short Story for Children
Reva loved phones. He loved to pick up the phone whenever it rang and say, “Hello!” But he never got to talk for very long.
RING! RING! rang the phone, and Reva went running to it. But Daddy got there first.
RING! RING! rang the phone, and Reva dashed to pick it up, but Mummy got there first.
Mummy saw he was sad, so she said let him say hello to Grandma. This made Reva happy.
Mummy had a gift for Reva. It was a phone, a toy phone. What a wonderful gift. He would call Daddy and the ice cream shop. He would call the toy shop and the baker’s shop.
Ellie liked his phone, and David liked his phone.
“Reva, can I please make a call on your phone?” David asked. Reva said yes! And David called the game store.
“Reva, can I please make a call on your phone?” Ellie asked. Reva said yes! And Ellie ordered some ribbons.
Reva felt so happy. He was glad he had such a special phone. It was fun to play with Ellie, and it was fun to play with David. It was fun when they all played together with his new phone.
RING! RING! rang the phone. David picked up the phone and said, “Hello.” This made Reva laugh so hard; he had to hold his stomach.
It was time for an adventure, and Reva’s new phone was needed.
“We must all go quickly to a land far away from here,” David said.
“Why?” asked Ellie. “Does someone need Reva’s new phone?”
“Yes. A young groom needs Reva’s phone to prepare for his wedding.” David said. “Will you let him use your phone, Reva?”
Reva was happy to help. So all three went to meet the groom. He was so happy to get some help. He called the tailor, and he called the chef. He called the baker, and he called his friends. Soon, he was done, and the wedding was ready.
“Thank you,” said the groom, “What would I have done without your phone?”
Reva was glad. They all wished him happiness and went home. Reva enjoyed the adventure. He loved his new phone.
